We learned so much about the Dominican Republic’s coffee, vanilla, and cocoa industries, and it was a bonus to taste raw cocoa. The horseback riding at Higüey was nice and operated by welcoming individuals. Visiting the Basilica and exploring the Dominican Market gave us a deeper understanding of the country’s history, people, and daily life. It felt meaningful to get off the resort and connect with the real Dominican Republic. Lunch was delicious, and the afternoon at the Anamuya River was an added touch!
